Weve seen it done a hundred times a hundred different ways, so when a studio like Fatshark is handed the reins to expand the franchise, it had better have something up their sleeve if its going to attract my attention for longer than it takes the kettle to boil. What I found with Escape Dead Island was not only a rehash of borrowed concepts done poorly, but it castrated all the fun, visceral excess and multiplayer mayhem that made Dead Island and its follow up Riptide so much fun to play.'
